Customer Service Representative

 

Description of Responsibilities

 

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for directing, coordinating, and managing all clients referred to the company for equipment care. The Customer Service Representative is responsible for ensuring all client orders are distributed to the appropriate individual for action.

Scope of Supervision

 

None

 

Responsibilities

 

1.     Coordinates client referrals with the company sales staff.

 

2.     Gathers client information necessary to provide equipment services.

 

3.     Forwards client complaints to Customer Service Manager.

 

4.     Coordinates homecare services between the company and personnel.

 

5.     Coordinate client information and process paperwork for billing.

 

6.     Discuss outstanding balances with patients and arrange payment of co-pays & deductibles prior to rendering services

 

7.     Process prior approval and extension requests for patient rental equipment.

 

8.     Assist  ACU-Serv with preparation and securing certificates of medical necessity.

 

9.     Establish and maintain client records.

 

10.  Maintains client data in an efficient manner, provides reports when needed.

 

11.  Participates in surveys made by authorized governmental agencies.

 

12.  Participate in continuing education programs.

 

13.  Participate in QI Plan as appropriate.

 

14.  Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

1.     Demonstrate strong communication skills, to include coordinating, directing, and monitoring of programs and processes.

 

2.     Ability to recognize and direct information to the appropriate health care provider.

 

3.     Have good computer skills.

 

4.     Have insurance reimbursement knowledge and health insurance billing experience.

 

5.     1 year experience in HME Customer Service preferred.

1.     The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit, as well as talk and hear.

 

2.     The employee is required to use hands to operate vehicle and office equipment.

 

3.     The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
